Angelina Jolie could wear sponges attached to her feet and still manage to look glamorous and ethereal. So it’s almost unfair to the rest of us mortals that Jolie has been bestowed a custom line of Christian Louboutin heels, themed for her new film, (the box-office juggernaut) Maleficent.
Louboutin has made a line of “horn-inspired” wedges for Jolie to wear to variousMaleficent-related events: she has previously worn a black version in London for a private exhibition of costumes and props from the movie, and a white iteration the next day for a photo call. And on Tuesday, she debuted a gold pairfor a Shanghai photo call. (She took a breather from wearing them at the U.S. premiere, which is a shame, as she could have used one as a weapon to repel that Ukranian prankster who came after Brad Pitt.)
Louboutin said he’s been a longtime fan of Jolie, which was part of the appeal of the collaboration. “It's exciting to work with a film that has such a strong aesthetic and a character as great as Maleficent,” Louboutin told Us Weekly. “I've been under the charm and spell of Angelina and her character.”
